Spiritual Communication Among Friends

By: Sindi Somers

I wanted to share a fun experience with you. A friend of mine had invited me to go to an event with her. From the beginning, I was on the fence about going. My first reaction was to not go, but my brain did a lot of analyzing and thought it would be fun to hang out with my friend, get a free catered meal, and perhaps enjoy other benefits.

After going back and forth about it, I finally made up my mind. I did not want to go. Since apart from being with my friend and eating a potentially tasty dinner, it did not sound fun. So, I called my friend and told her. She said, “I know. You told me.” I replied with amusement, and confusion, “no, I didn’t!” But she assured me that I had told her the prior week. I repeated that I hadn’t told her, and then articulated why I didn’t want to go. Now she thought it was funny too and said, “that’s exactly what you told me when we talked on the phone!” I knew we hadn’t talked on the phone about this. After checking her call history, this was confirmed, and there was also no mention of my decision or the event in her text messages. The whole situation became even more amusing when I shared with her, “I did think about telling you last week though. You heard my thoughts!”

Besides sharing a moment of amusement with my friend, what a validation of spirit this was! When I have shared with her about meditation before, she hasn’t seemed interested. Whether or not someone meditates, or has certain spiritual or religious beliefs, or none at all, it doesn’t change the fact that we are all spirit. It has nothing to do with rituals we may engage in, although some may be enjoyable, beneficial, and validating. There is nothing we can do to make ourselves more “spiritual,” since we are already 100% spirit. However, there are practices that can help us increase our awareness of spirit and the spiritual realm, such as using the techniques that are taught at CDM. As spirit we have amazing abilities, whether we are aware of them or not, or validate them as being real. This includes our ability to communicate telepathically.

I will admit that this experience with my friend has made me even more conscious of the power of thought. This has motivated me to be extra mindful about what I think. We are all spirit. We all have the power to see, know, and otherwise sense energy, as well as send and receive it. Including my example of energy in the form of a non-verbal, telepathic message that I sent to my friend.

Although we don’t live in a world that universally acknowledges this, we are all affected by energy. It is fun to notice more people using terminology about energy and its effects in everyday conversations. Such as, to help explain if they like or dislike a particular place, event, or person. Using “liking or not liking energy” as a descriptive term is a part of our vocabulary in a way that it wasn’t in previous years. The concept of energy and energy awareness continues to become more accepted and understood by mainstream society, and is considered less odd or “woo-woo.”

To increase my conscious awareness of telepathic communication, I use the spiritual techniques that CDM teaches. They help me to be more aware, and more in charge of my energy and the messages that I am communicating to others. The techniques have helped me to focus more on myself and own my communications more fully. It has been empowering to discover how much I have been communicating telepathically, and humbling to acknowledge the messages I have not been owning!

Practicing the techniques, especially grounding, helps protect me from energies that I don’t want to receive. Grounding is also a great tool to release any unwanted energy. First and foremost, using the CDM meditation techniques helps me to know myself as spirit, and increase my spiritual awareness. This helps me to have more clarity so I can make beneficial decisions about what I want to communicate, and what messages I want to receive.

One last thing to share about my friend. Since having the telepathic communication experience, we have talked about other related topics. During one of our recent text conversations, I mentioned meditation again. I asked her if she thought she would ever be interested in learning to meditate. Her response? “Maybe!”
