Two or More Gathered
I’d like to share a little story about a recent experience between my friend and me that demonstrates the power generated by two people who create something wonderful together.
My friend and I were working together on a project. The first day of the project was fraught with doubt, expectations and uncertainty which left both of us rather burnt out and unenthusiastic.
Fortunately, we both practice spiritual techniques. I grounded and centered in order to calm my body and see clearly as spirit.
I asked, “What am I learning here and what do I want?” I felt a rush of joy getting the answer: I’m learning to stand my ground and that I want to work through this situation. What a great opportunity I thought.
I then used a spiritual technique to let go of anything in the way of our completing this task, which made everything become clearer between us.
I also called upon one of the great benefits of belonging to a spiritual community – I spoke with another friend and asked for her support and perspective.
Voila – the next day the second half of the project went off without a hitch. We worked seamlessly as a pair and got it done in a short time.
It was truly a healing, not only for us two but everyone else. I learned that in order to solve conflict with others, I must first address what inside me is causing or contributing to the conflict.
My understanding of the Bible quote below is that it infers that the ‘two or more’ be in agreement with one another (well, not perfectly!). It’s obvious to me my friend had the same desire I did and used the same techniques! This is the power of two or more. Actually, the third was my other friend I spoke to for counsel.
Imagine more of us working together like this in the world and what can be accomplished.
