Meditation as Self Healing
Before I found CDM, I had tried several methods of meditation. But I found the results I was looking for in meditation elusive and unfulfilling. The meditation techniques I found were for a “meditation time,” and I couldn’t use them in the rest of my life. As I meditated less and less, my relationship with God became less real.
I awoke one morning with excruciating pain in my right shoulder and was unable to raise my arm. After weeks of unsuccessful treatment, I was referred to a specialist. After a couple of weeks of extensive and expensive tests, I was put into the hospital. A piece of my collar bone was cut out for analysis. I had an infection in my collar bone, shoulders, ribs, and back. Some of the doctors wanted to remove my collars bone, but I left the hospital with antibiotics and a strong possibility that I would be back.
Two days later, I started Meditation I. I still couldn’t meditate on my own, but I came to CDM for class, Meditation Hour and church service. That way, I practiced my meditation techniques three times a week. I was allowing time for me, time to give to myself, and time to re-establish my relationship with God.
Practice does make a difference. When you practice the techniques, you “own” them, i.e., you make them your own. After a few months, when I walked into the Church, I found I was already a little bit grounded. I was a little closer to being in the center of my head. I was beginning to use the techniques through the week. The basic techniques, grounding, centering, running energy, creating and destroying a rose symbol, can be used any time, any place, and they assist the self-healing process. At the time, I didn’t realize how much self-healing I was doing.
I went in for surgery. Afterwards I was on antibiotics. However, I suffered a relapse and the doctor felt the only option left was more surgery. Once I finished with the antibiotics, I was to return to him since he expected the infection to have retuned by then. At that point, he planned to send me to a specialist.
The infection never returned!
I am convinced I still have all my bones only because of the techniques I learned in Meditation Class. The meditation techniques can assist anyone to change and heal themselves.
Now, I meditate every day and use the basic spiritual techniques with everything I do, for I have an endless supply of self-healing projects.
