Keep on Moving Along the Way

By: Lembi Kongas

As the Covid 19 pandemic is lessening and more freedom in public movement appears to be on the way, I am aware of the tension my body has been under with the enormous changes the world has been experiencing.  I am sure I am not the only one.

Daily meditation has been key to my living. Listening to guided meditations by Mary Ellen Flora has strengthened me daily, and a CDM remote healing class and meditation workshops have supported me body and spirit.

I hit the expectation, at times, nevertheless, that I should be totally self-sufficient. What an invalidating expectation because this is not realistic. I am not totally self-sufficient. “No man is an island, no man stands alone, “verses from an old popular song are true. I live in community with other people, even during a Covid pandemic

This morning a friend phoned me. I was overjoyed to talk with him and that he had thought to call me. A simple thing. I had not slept well the evening before and I was judging myself for that. Hearing his voice and good cheer lifted a weight from my shoulders. He helped me simply by being happy and sharing that with me.

Talking with him about the little things in life, allowed me to be more aware of personal limits I wanted to and could release and personal horizons I wanted to and could widen. I received a healing from this simple conversation with a friend.

Healing begins within each of us individually. Meditation is the way to turn within. It is wonderful to have friends to help. As one of the songs in the CDM song book reminds us: … with friends ahead and friends behind to help us on the way… Keep on moving, along the way.
